Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy
Our approach to equality, diversity and inclusion, written to the size we actually are.
Commitment
ASTRI DEVS LTD is committed to treating people fairly and to complying with the Equality Act 2010. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation — whether in how we engage people, how we select suppliers, or how we deal with clients.
How we engage people
- Selection is based on the ability to do the work. Requirements are written against what the role actually needs, not against a list of preferences that filters people out for no reason.
- Reasonable adjustments are made at every stage of a selection process and during an engagement. Anyone can ask for an adjustment without explaining more than they want to.
- Terms of engagement are set out in writing, and pay is set against the work rather than against what someone was previously paid.
- Harassment, bullying and victimisation are not tolerated.
Inclusion in what we build
The most consequential inclusion decision a technology supplier makes is whether the systems it builds exclude people. We build to WCAG 2.2 level AA as a delivery standard, not as a retrofit, and we write accessibility acceptance criteria into specifications so that it is testable rather than aspirational.
We also try to avoid the quieter forms of exclusion in system design: forms that assume a particular name structure, address format, gender field, or family arrangement; error messages that assume fluency; interfaces that assume a fast connection and a recent device. These get raised during design rather than after launch.
Working with clients and partners
We expect the same standards from delivery partners and subcontractors, and we expect our people to be treated in accordance with this policy when working on a client's premises or systems. Where a client has its own equality requirements for suppliers, those apply in addition to this policy.
Raising a concern
Anyone who believes they have been treated unfairly by ASTRI DEVS LTD, or who has witnessed it, should email info@astridevs.co.uk, marked for a director. Concerns are investigated and the person raising them is told the outcome. Nobody raising a genuine concern in good faith will suffer any detriment.
A note on scale
We are a small company. We do not publish diversity statistics, because with our headcount any figure would identify individuals rather than inform anyone, and we do not run diversity programmes we have not actually established. What we can commit to is fair treatment, reasonable adjustments, and building services that do not exclude people — and we would rather be held to those than to a target we invented for a tender response.
